// I am the Lord your peace. No evil will conquer you. Steady now your heart and mind. Come into my rest. //
Come To Me: Jenn Johnson
Gathering of many conquers more than the standing of loneliness.
So I realized by the end of last week, I’d switched my topics. So today we wrap up this series with the best topic near to my heart. Friendship.
A Secret Told.
In life, there are many you’ll call a friend. Some will stay in your life for long seasons. Some will stay for short seasons. The problems we encounter is the friends we know should be removed or let go maybe not even for a bad reason.
You can’t hold someone that needs to be released. It hurts. It can be depressing if you allow it to be. It’s not easy. Sometimes it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do. In the end, you have to see a bigger picture. If they’re meant to return, they will.
So who can we trust? It’s like a Russian Roulette, you never know who’s going to turn your secrets to the public. You may have slipped up. It’s ok, the biggest take away is not to give up. You will find friends that you’ll have long life experiences with. It may not be a big fan base.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Matthew 18:20 NKJV
It’s not about the crowd. In the book of Luke, we find a story about friends that will help us.
A Knock At The Door.
So when we look at this story we see Jesus asking who has a friend that can help them. The example is a friend who when awoke was disturbed by the request. The knocking continues until the request is answered.
“and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?”
Luke 11:7 NKJV
“I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.”
Luke 11:8 NKJV
These two verses are so intertwined. When you keep knocking you’re bound to wake someone up. I bet the wife and children also woke up. The power in numbers drove this man to give what was requested.
We need to surround ourselves with people who are persistent. People who will knock and stay until something moves and shifts. We need these people because we get weak. We need people to surround us to remind us of our goal.
Asking the Father, God, to open up doors. Asking Him to close doors. Asking anything and everything. Pressing in until you see something shift and move. BUT also you need to be willing to be that friend. Be the friend you are wanting to have. You can do this. You’re not too different that you have nothing to give. Kindness costs nothing and a smile pays a thousand words.
Join us next week as we go for God. A new series arises and I can’t wait to see what He reveals.
Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
