// One final breath. He conquered death. For me and for you. //
He Paid It All: Brandon Heath
Faith has the power to overcome fear.
The journey we take today is one that surpasses many levels and lessons. These verses have been stirring in me:
“You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
James 4:2-3 NKJV
This to me speaks; you have not because you ask not. Let’s take that in. What if we are missing out on some blessings because we are fearful to ask?
Last week we covered a bit about self-worth. The idea that you are more than enough. You have it inside yourself. His name is Jesus. He wants to show you so much more than you can think or imagine.
Just A Touch.
In the Bible is a favorite story. Let’s turn to Luke 8. Here we see a woman plagued for 12 years with a blood disorder. She had been around trying to find relief. Doctors could not help her. People were afraid of her. This disease caused fear in her. The disease became her story and her identity.
I’ve never really had a disease for 12 years. But I’ve met people who have been in the same boat. The journey of exhaustion, turmoil, despair, etc. It’s hard. When the easiest thing is to give up, these people find a strength to carry on. Sometimes the perspective change is exactly what people need. They need you. They need a friend. They need support.
For everyone we need hope. Something that will drive us to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For Christians, it is a man named Jesus. He is hope.
So imagine this 12-year journey and you have an opportunity to meet hope. What would you do for it?
“came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.”
Luke 8:44 NKJV
Facing The Crowd.
So moving back to that initial thought. Think about what the community thought. She probably never went out much. She probably had little to no friends. People were honestly afraid of what they don’t know. So this woman faced the crowd. Crawling, getting stomped on. She endured and fought for her HOPE.
SHE WAS HEALED!!
What she had fought for came through. She did it. She now moved into a place that there was no “what if,” she lived a life with no regret.
In this life, you’re going to have many things come against you. You’ll have many choices to go left or right. There will be things you think you’ve missed out on. In reality, if you’re listening to the voice of God there is no missing out. You are where you’re supposed to be. The things you think you’re missing out on can be a burden, a heavyweight that won’t lift. BUT GOD. You can lay those at His feet.
“Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalms 37:4 NKJV
In the end, are you willing to hear and follow the voice of the Lord? You have not, because you ask not. What if that which you’ve been wanting is actually one step of faith away. Keep pressing in.
Join us next week as we lean on Him. He is all we need. Let’s keep pressing in for asking for more.
Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
