// I’m coming back to where we started. When I first felt Your love. You’re all that matters, Jesus. //
Nothing Else: Cody Carnes
A season of silence can be a season of reflection.
Part of the lie we can believe is all about how close or where God is. We can get consumed. When those questions aren’t answered how we think they should be then we redirect our anger. This can be on others, ourselves, and even God.
So what a way that starts this blog topic today. I felt it needed to be said. More exposed. Because many people feel like this. You’re not alone. The difference becomes what you do after the lie has been exposed. We’ll look into that as we continue on.
So have you ever felt that God was closer than the skin you have? Every step you heard or felt the peace of the Lord. You were doing everything “right”? Then one day it felt gone. Nothing. Nada. Zip. It’s like you were all alone again? Your relationship with God is full. You read the word. You pray. You go to church. But still, you feel dead?
Lie number one, He has abandoned you. Even if it was yesterday, a week, a month, a year ago… He has not nor will He ever abandon you.
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV
When you rely on someone you put everything into the relationship. Time and time again people have left just like that. Stop putting past experiences with a man on your relationship with God. God doesn’t leave. That would contradict His word. As Deuteronomy 31:6 states, He will never leave you! Thought? Have you given Him a chance to speak, or did you cut Him off before you felt He would cut you off?
Lie number two, He will leave me here.
“as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”
I Peter 2:2-3 NKJV
“And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Luke 17:5 NKJV
Sometimes His love comes in a lesson of endurance. We can pray to use us or grow us. Then when He does we lose it, because He does exactly what we ask. It’s just not how we think it’s going to look. He loves us too much to keep us where we are, and willing to encourage us in our new seasons of life. Sometimes it is an encouragement to be able to see how far you’ll go from where you’ve been. Growth. You are being stretched for your next blessing.
Lie number 3, I will never hear or feel Him again.
“To everything, there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV
“The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.”
Lamentations 3:25 NKJV
This won’t be your end. A season of silence can be a season of reflection. Meaning while you feel nothing keep pressing through. There may be something waiting for you that you need to be ready for. This is a training ground to be equipped, to be loved, to embrace His truths.
This may not have completely done away with the lies. But it’s all about exposing the lie and letting Jesus minister to the brokenness you may be feeling. Life happens, but how you deal with it changes everything.
In college, a group of my friends and I were contending for this very thing. We worshipped through. We prayed through. We supported each other. This spirited song came out that has since set people free. Because it’s based on His truth in our lives.
// you are not a God whose far from us, but you hold us close. //
It’s a song that we have physically sung in our time that we just needed to be caught up in His presence. We can set the atmosphere for Him to do anything. We received. Join us next we as we continue venturing this lie detecting process.

Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
