Let It Happen: United Pursuit
Don’t be fooled by the words of man, but trust the never changing word of God.
I feel like this month is an April fools joke all in itself! How are we entering into the fourth month of the year? But with a new month comes a new series. To be honest I thought I was burnt out. It’s been a nice run. However, the Lord pushes this in my spirit to share.
Have you ever just thought to yourself, man I believe a lot of lies from the enemy? Maybe it sounded more like how could I end up back here? I thought I was over that. Why does this keep happening? We plan to answer these very questions in our series:
So what does it mean to be fooled? Or maybe have the wool pulled over our eyes? We must first realize this part of one truth.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”
John 10:10 NKJV
You miss the mark sometimes. It’s the choices that lead us down our path. However, there is someone in the wing wait for us to fail. A lot of the times it’s the small door opportunities we open ourselves up to that allow for us to have big open consequences. What does that mean, “an open door?”
In life, we don’t always do what we’re supposed to do. We make mistakes. Some mistakes are big and some small, but a mistake none the less. Sometimes those mistakes are accidental and sometimes they are full blown on purpose. Regardless, it leaves an opening in your life for the enemy. The enemy from John 10:10, he wants to steal, kill, and destroy you. Those mistakes leave a path for the enemy to walk on and have his way. So what does that look like?
Imagine you have been lying. “Everyone tells a lie,” may be your justification to do that. There is a choice you must make at that moment, lie or tell the truth. For those who choose the truth, they move forward in life. They may have different struggles down the line. But for now, let focus on the lie. So for others, they lie. They don’t see what is wrong. But then one day that lying thing becomes real easy. For you, that’s become life. Now I thought there was a downside to this?
How do you think it goes over with the outside view? I have a friend who lies all the time. I can’t trust them to Lee a secret even though they promised. Because, well they are that honest. Imagine that same friend overhears this conversation. The lying friend will be hurt. Their choice is to find understanding or lose that friend because that seems easier. Later down the line, the lying friend may end up trying more mistake worthy offenses. One after the other after the other. Which boils down to a sinners lifestyle. What does that mean?
Well, we all can choose to live a life filled with sin. It’s our choice. But we also have an opportunity to live in life. There is a man who came and bore all sin, so that you may be seen as pure. In that purity, you see eternity with justice and freedom and hope!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 NKJV
“although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.”
I Timothy 1:13-14 NKJV
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason, I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.”
I Timothy 1:15-16 NKJV
So how does this happen? Well, remember earlier. We had a scripture, John 10:10. There is more to the story.
“… I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10 NKJV
Yes, my friend His name is Jesus. While the enemy comes to do his thing. Jesus came so we could live life not in mediocrity, not in fear, not in poverty. Jesus came so we could live in abundance!
This is the rest of the John 10:10 truth. That yes there is an enemy. BUT. The is also a savior. You may go through it, and it’s not going to be peaches and rainbows. But it is worth it. It is going to be so worth it. It’ll be more than you can think or imagine.
Join us next week as we keep exposing the lies and releasing the truth. Never say never to what He will do in and through you. You are worth it, even after all odds have said you shouldn’t have made it.
