// Even in death, You’re always with me.
And when I am fearful, I won’t be afraid. Oh, Spirit reminds me Your presence remains. //
Your Love Is Alive: Housefires
You don’t have to do this alone.
We are now entering the 3rd month of 2019! That’s crazy. Though it seems to have dragged on, we’ve made progress. We’ve had ups and we’ve had downs. This month we are going to look at how to overcome our mountains. In this month’s series, we’re going to learn how to thrive when we are:
I’ve been thinking over the past month what this month would consist of. The theme. As we journeyed through each general I realized one commonality was the faith they had to stay the course. Then I thought man, that is so applicable to right now. The obstacles we’ve seen and faced.
In every journey, there are those mountain type situations we can’t seem to overcome. A sin. A choice. A problem. To everyone, a mountain looks different. But they are mountains none the less. So our problem is we dwell trying to overcome those mountains as fast as we can.
What if part of these mountain journeys were to learn from them? What about the ability to overcome through that dreaded P word, patience? I’ve thought a lot about the mountain I’ve faced in my life. Each different than the last. Some took longer to overcome and some I’m still journeying through. But the reality is I keep moving forward. You can too. I’m by no means perfect. I am living my best life because He sees me and calls me more than I can think or imagine.
He is releasing me from carrying that mountain into the next season. Too often we know He has fixed or freed us from something holding us back or weighing us down. But sometimes that mountain became a security blanket and we don’t know how to live without it. Does that sound familiar?
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36 NKJV
In this series, I want to take a deeper look into some of these topics. You are enough. You are more. You are going to make it. A lot of times it is easier to discount ourselves than embrace His truth over us.
“Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”
Proverbs 16:24 NKJV
Something is going to have to break. Our habits. Our thoughts. Our pride. Our addictions. Our sorrows. He is a big enough God to take on anything and everything you are willing to lay down. It is a choice to lay it down. It is also a choice to pick it back up.
I watched a movie from when I was younger, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. In this movie was a scene when the hero has to breakthrough his obstacle he could not before. The advancement of this next plot point relied on him not giving up. All of a sudden in the last moment he does it! Not only that but he has his friends alongside him. He didn’t have to face it alone.
This is a reminder that you don’t have to do it alone. Not only is God with you. He will send friends and people alongside you to face the mountains. It will be alright. You can do this!
Join us next week as we face the lies that hold us back. It’s very easy to believe what everyone has told you. Is there one that we should listen to more than the other?
Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
