// He is my firm foundation. My Anchor won’t be moved. Storms may collide, but my soul is on fire with His Word. //
Never Lost: Ramp Worship feat. Catherine Mullins
Let your light shine through your authenticity to love.
We’re back with some hard hitting reality. Dreaming with God hurts sometimes. Growing pains always do. You don’t always remember the pain after you live in success. Catch up on our last post, Before It Happens. Now the part you don’t want to hear.
Dreaming with God is going to cost you something. To dream big, the cost is big. Now the good part is what you pay, is paid back in full to overflowing. The ”bad” part, it’s probably not going to be how you expect it.
We are going to continue on with Joseph on our journey to reach our dreams. Scripture will be taken from Genesis 37, & 39. To minor your time, we will be paraphrasing. We encourage you to read these passages for yourself that you may receive your own personal wisdom and revelation.
So we left Joseph and his brothers in rare form. But to be honest, if you’ve ever had a sibling you’re ready to kill them. Now, with Joseph’s brothers, this may have truly been literal. Verse 18, confirms this. It wasn’t just a dislike, there was a hatred. Though Ruben stepped in, it didn’t stop the others from going too far. Verse 28, give us the details. Sold. Away Joseph was gone. His dreams meant nothing anymore.
Verse 34, Jacob is met with a lie. Joseph is lost. Promises, broken. So what does this mean for you? Have you thought you were doing the right thing? Then BAM! Everything goes south. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?
You’re given a dream. A promise to do something great. Now you’ve protected it. You’ve only told people to support you. But still, it feels like it has been all for nothing. What hope do we have?
“The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.”
Genesis 39:2 NKJV
The Lord is with you. Just as He was with Joseph, He is with you! He is for you. Desiring to make you successful. That my friend is exactly why the enemy has been trying to keep you down. To keep your focus on that which is negative. Joseph could have dwelt in the negative and failed. However, He succeeded. Because the calling on Joseph’s life was irrevocable. Just like the calling and dreams you have are as well.
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
Romans 11:29 NKJV
Favor was shown. A high official chose Joseph because of his work in excellence. Because regardless of Joseph’s brother’s actions, it didn’t have to define his integrity. Now was Joseph hurt, sure! But he didn’t let his hurts define him.
Life went on. Favor. Then just when he thought life was working for him. Seduction came in. Accusations came in. Genesis 39:14 turned Joseph’s life upside down. So how does this give me hope? I can hear you now, ”see if Joseph can’t even get a break how can I?”
“But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.”
Genesis 39:21 NKJV
Mercy. The Lord shows mercy in the time of despair. The enemy may beat you down. But the Lord is mightier. He is still for you. He is still fighting for your destiny. Your dream. DON’T GIVE UP!
Join us next week to see if Joseph calls it quits or choose a different path. What do you think? Stuck in a pit. Yet another beat down.
