// I will never forget the moment I met You. The moment You called my name. Pulled me out of the darkness, gave me a promise to never thirst again. //

He sees beyond your present or your past and drives you towards your future.
Last week we covered the reality of doubting in Doubting dilemma. We also covered a little about roots. The situations we face started somewhere. So let’s dig a little deeper. What if you just can’t get over your past?
So here we are today in 2018, you’ve lived up to now. Regardless of age, you are here in this moment. You have a past. Take a breath. Another second has passed and you are increasing your history. We have 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week. We get to choose how to spend our time.
Now, how do you spend your time? Is the way you live your life, now, truly the life you want to be living? You see sometimes we allow our past to set our future. The ups and downs of life. Things that have worked. The things that have not. The things that have helped and that which hasn’t.
Example. As a kid, your house burns down. In your mind, you are probably a bit more aware of fire prevention. But the same thing can be done through other factors of your life. If as a kid people broke promises to you, now it may be hard for you to trust others. If as a kid you were bullied for something physical on your body, now you’re probably more self-conscious when people remotely point it out now.
These may seem like simple issues. Buck up and suck up. But these are real! Don’t ever discount someone’s pain. You don’t know the pain that one simple act has caused. What if as a kid you were molested, or abused? As an adult, your life can probably reflect that. The shame, the guilt, the fear. It can all form you into who you are now.
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
Genesis 50:20 NKJV
God never put the order to cause bad things to happen in your life. BUT. He is the one ready to throw the lifeline and help rescue you out of terrible situations. Horrible things happen in this world every day. Unfortunately, some of those things involve unspeakable tragedies and downright injustice. We live in a fallen world controlled by sin. Sin does what sin does. Evil. But we have a hope!
“Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 4:13-14 NKJV
Eternal life with Him. He promises are good. The life you live here on earth is just a mere moment to the spectrum of eternity. We can’t be afraid to break the norm of how we have lived. Every day we can choose to be different. To reach for a dream. To soar with eagles.
Our past doesn’t go away. BUT GOD! He will turn everything around for our good. It’s a process, so don’t give up hope. It may not look like what you saw, but He promises it will be worth it.
For those who believe in John 3:16, the day you believed set you free. You no longer have to be held by your past for you are a new creation.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
You see that past that held you down, is now pushing you forward. To share. Speak out where you’ve been. Then tell what happened when you first met Jesus. The only one who can set you free. Don’t let your past mistakes define your future but mold a better today.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
Remember what He has done. If you have yet to meet Jesus, ask Him what He will do. He’s not afraid of your past. He will get in the dirt every time. For you. Because He sees your worth and calls you out into a magnificent glory. His love.
Join us next week as we face our worries about this whole thing. When the truth hits our reality. Grace is poured out.
If you’ve found this enjoyable, please like, & share! If you’ve got a testimony of how these posts are transforming your life, we’d love to hear that too! Until next time, peace & blessings!!
Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
