// I hear the Savior say, “thy strength indeed is small; child of weakness, watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all.” //
Jesus Paid It All: Elvina Hall
He gives you a choice to soar with Him.
We’re bringing a close to this series. Bittersweet, I know! I’ve enjoyed this series. It has pressed me to look at my circumstances and realize He truly is magnificent.
Over the course of this series, it may have seemed like we walked around the “easy” button. In reality, we hit the mark! You see it’s all about your relationship with Christ. John 16:33, tells us we are going to have troubles but He has overcome the world. I don’t know about you, but I want to know this man who is able to do such things!! Continue on by reading our past articles in Higher, Down In The Well, Relate To Me.
This post we will be reading from Luke 10: 38-42. To honor your time we will be paraphrasing. We encourage you to read these passages for yourself that you may gain your own wisdom and revelation! Let’s begin!
So we start with two sisters. Mary. And Martha. You may have heard of these women. They’re popularly known. Martha the busy bee. Mary the worshiper.
Verse 40, gives us Martha’s thought process. She has invited a guest and must prepare this, that, and other. She is “distracted.” It’s not that what she is doing isn’t important. It’s just that she took her eyes off Jesus. So like many who can miss the mark, she calls out someone else and semi blames her for why she is like this. “But Mary!”
“And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.”
Luke 10:41 NKJV
So Jesus puts the focus back on her. You see we are solely responsible for us. We don’t have to worry about the others. As long as we focus on the relationship between you and Him.
“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:42 NKJV
Mary chose to worship the king and be at His feet. Jesus wants your time. Because it takes time to build a relationship! Martha was focused on the lack of work Mary was producing. She couldn’t see why Mary was doing this.
Most people will never see the process you took to get to where you are. Nor why you do the things you do. They just want the end product. They want the reward without the sacrifice. People can just see you now and think that’s how it’s always been.
The secret to flying above your circumstances is being grounded in Him. Into order to rise you have to have faith that He will catch you.
Let me ask you a couple of questions. Do you check your chair before you sit? Do you check the floor before you walk? Do you check a car before you drive? Do you check the boat before a cruise? Do you check the plane before lift off? In the general some, no “you” don’t. A team of engineers or manufactures do. You trust them that they’ve done a good work. Your focus is on getting on board. You relax and don’t worry about what comes next. You enjoy the process you’re in.
That’s how we must trust Jesus. Without a doubt. Just do it. Will there be worry? Fear? Discouragement? You bet, but if you let that control your next move rather than trusting Him you’re bound to stay bound to your circumstance. Good, bad, indifferent. Lean on Him.
He is our sole engineer and creator. He has made you, be you. An original. He knows what makes you tick. He knows the most intricate detailing of your life. The things that hold you back, the things that motivate you to rise. He’s going to press you to overcome your hard place because He knows you can do it. Especially when you think you can’t. He knows the reality of your breakthrough is just one move from the mountain in your life to crumble.
He stretches you to grow you. You grow in the assurance that He is faithful to provide. That when you’re in the highest of joys He is there. That when you’re in the lowest of sorrow He is there. When you’re weak and tired He will carry you on eagle’s wings.
“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
Philippians 1:6 NKJV
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7 NKJV
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
Psalms 139:13-14 NKJV
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
We hope you’ve enjoyed this series. To soar, you have to know who is carrying you. You have to have a real and raw relationship with your best friend. The King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus. You have to know Jesus.
