Mention of Your Name: Brian & Jenn Johnson

Restored destinies are made up of broken moments.

Welcome, Chasers!!

It special post once again! To be honest I wanted to do something bigger for this post but I realized I too only have 24 hours in a day.

I’ve been in the process of moving from my house of around 10 years. Lots of memories. Lots of moments. Tears, joys, & indifference. I realize the growth I’ve seen in myself.

Take a breath.

That’s it. A moment. You just took in a moment. I’ve had to do a lot of that. Because we are so busy. Going from job to home to kids to home to bed to work to… see! Exhausting just reading that right?

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Another point to make here is thankfulness. While we are busy, we have something to be busy about. Sometimes we forget exactly why we are busy. Though reasons may or not be Christ-centered it’s with determination we go.

So back to the process of moving. We have to realize when we accept Jesus into our life there is a moving process as well. From our sinful nature to that of kingdom mindset. We don’t always get it right. We will mess up. However, it’s a process.

Part of that process is we have died. Our previous before Jesus life. Though like moving we can carry those memories we can pack up what we need and move on.

Most Christians today have not moved on from their before Jesus life. I found that true for me. Because surrendering, yes that big scary word, involves us not always getting what we want when we want. It may involve us serving someone else. That may involve being the bigger person time and time again when you get the short straw.

How can we keep on doing this?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You are NEW! But God doesn’t expect you to be a pushover, to be pushed around. Have you seen the mighty giants of faith in the Bible? They definitely weren’t pushovers. In a moment God called on them to rise above, & they met Him at the door of obedience. Now it’s your turn. With Jesus you don’t just rise, you soar.

Rise above!

Next month we are going to be learning about that. What is it & how can I do it? Rise? Not me? I can’t. Stay tuned.

If you’ve found this enjoyable, please like, & share! If you’ve got a testimony of how these posts are transforming your life, we’d love to hear that too! Until next time, peace & blessings!!
