// Heaven is here, heaven is now, Heaven is a thing that is coming down. Lives in our hearts, of those who believe, the kingdom of God that’s living in me. //

To move mountains, you first have to throw some pebbles.
It’s funny how today we are caught up in the who’s who of the world. We can’t help it. We like knowing who has influence over things that may affect us, & even if they don’t. We even know trivial facts about people we may never meet. It’d be safe to say there are several that would try to replicate their lives in hopes to become like the rich & the famous.
Why? It’s like when you’re a kid you have heroes & role models that you’ve looked up to. This ranges from a parent to some character on a TV show. As we grow those ideas tend to change. We no longer want to just be limited to our perception of those we looked up to, but now want to be bigger or better than they ever were.
Growing up may have heard of the author Dr. Suess. You may also be familiar with one of his works with a book entitled “Horton Hears a Who.” If not that’s ok. I’ll briefly mention the highlights. Spoiler alert, for those who’ve yet to read it. There is a character named Horton. He, well, hears a small voice from, you guessed it, a who. The story unfolds sharing how only Horton can hear these people of a city called, Whoville. After some persecution, there is yet one last trial of perseverance. In Horton’s belief in Whoville.
Ultimately, others finally hear what Horton has been hearing all along. So you may be thinking what does this have to do with Jesus? You, like Horton, are hearing a voice others have not heard to a destiny others have not seen. When we are born we have this natural human reset. Our human sinful nature is enacted. We go through life then, hopefully, at some point, you accept Jesus & your Heavenly reset takes over then you’re reborn.
You see Whoville was a village no one could see or hear. Filled with people just like in Horton’s world. Have you ever tried to share the gospel & been looked at like you’ve had three heads? Yeah, welcome to the life of being Horton. Believers learn John 3:16 early on in their walk with Christ.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 NKJV
In the King James Version, it lists “whosoever.” Your original design was to be a Heavenly being. Not of this world. Much like a Who from Whoville. But I thought you said I was like Horton?
There lies the beauty of God’s creation for our lives. While yes we are human or Horton’s, we are equipped with Heaven’s resources to hear our version of Whoville. Just as Horton was equipped to not only hear Whoville but carry out the message Whoville exists. Is this making sense?
You see Whoville being a functioning world on its own had the opportunity to reach Horton. There was a point all of Whoville cheered loud for Horton to hear. They were loud enough to let all those around Horton hear as well. Finally, when one heard it, that increased the faith for everyone to receive the voice that only Horton could hear at the time.
“And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Mark 4:9 NKJV
So I’m not of this world, but still of it. I have ears to hear God, but not everyone listens. If I’m like Horton I’ll be persecuted, but one day all will hear the voice I’ve been following faithfully. EXACTLY! This doesn’t sound like much fun. The persecution part.
This is where you have to realize as much as this book can parallel, we are real & not just a storybook. So there are some perks we can act now to help us. When we die, we either graduate to Heaven or go to Hell. But as believers now, here in the flesh & blood we can do marvelous things. Do you believe me? Would you believe it if Jesus said it?
“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:7-8 NKJV
But that was Jesus! He just did things like that. Not regular people like me. He couldn’t have meant me… right?
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
John 14:12 NKJV
So, not only will we do what Jesus did, but GREATER! God’s word is the truth. If it is written in the book, the Bible, God stands by it. It’s His word & He is faithful to fulfill His promises. Side note. It’s not about you & what you can do. We alone can do nothing. Just like the scripture says with Christ in us, we can do it.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
In closing, I hope you can see that you’re more than meets the eye. You are a transformer. Pun intended. You are a Whosoever, which means you have the opportunity to change the world. You may be picked on or made fun of. But Jesus did it first. It’s always worth it in the end.
Well, this is the end of our first special post. Hopefully will do this periodically. Next week we will deal with some tough hurts & how they can be redeemed.
If you’ve found this enjoyable, please like, & share! If you’ve got a testimony of how these posts are transforming your life, we’d love to hear that too! Until next time, peace & blessings!!
Hello friends, I’m Marco. I’m an RN, & founder of Four Winds, a ministerial blog.
I have a heart for this generation to know who they are & whose they are. I also contend for revival to cover college campuses. As well as preach the word until every nation has heard. Sharing Jesus with all, & showing the love that was once shown me.
